Engage in fast-paced computer hacking battles against your cyberpunk rivals like you were in a 90's hacker movie.
Face off against other elite hackers within a 3D cyberspace and blast each other off the grid by tactical use of computer viruses, trojans, and spikes. Defend your own nodes with encryption, firewalls, and scanners. And watch out for hidden traps like backdoors that can decimate your network from within. Become the notorious computer hacker you always wanted to be!
- Real-time, player vs. player tactical hacking battles
- Eight elite hackers to choose from, each with a special skillset
- Infiltrate maze-like three-dimensional network grids
- Earn reputation and get ranked on global leaderboards
- Single-player campaign mode where you take down hackers to unlock new skills
- Upgrade and customize your hacking abilities
- Ranked online cross-platform multiplayer for epic hacking battles
Background
PWN was inspired by those gloriously fake Hollywood hacking scenes - the ones where someone breaks into the FBI with a few lines of code, or engages in a hacking war using 3D interfaces on eight monitors and blows up the mainframe. The hacking genre is full of simplistic mini-games, but nothing that really explored the competitive, hacker-vs-hacker component. In addition, the terminology of computer hacking - viruses, firewalls, backdoors - seemed ripe for much deeper and strategic game mechanics.
My goal is to turn PWN into the eSport of the future. It's spectator-friendly, fast-paced, and has a high skill ceiling, so it can really thrive when played at highly competitive levels. Until it reaches that point, I'll be porting to as many platforms as possible to keep reaching bigger and bigger audiences.
